How we work

At Hans Geel Productions we are continuously investigating what is going on in society. We detect trends, fashions, new hobbies and social changes. We get the latest information from newspapers, magazines and web sites from all over the world. We visit bookshops wherever we go and you can find us at all the important book fairs in the world. With all this information our creative team analyses the book market and creates a shortlist of possible book projects. In a brainstorm some projects fall off the shortlist while other, new ideas come up.
With the result of this brainstorm the final book concept is created. The book is structured and after approval the copywriters can start working.
Due to the very strict book structure, the content is known well in advance, so that photo shootings can be planned, illustrators can start working and the picture editors know well in advance what they have to look for.
Finally the whole book content finds its way to our design department. Here the pages get their final form, text and pictures are added and images get their final retouch. In between there are several stages of control by copy editors and art directors.

Projects on demand

Hans Geel productions can create any book on any subject in any size or form. Many publishers have asked us to make books that seemlessly fit in their range, titles that failed to make a collection complete.
Projects on demand receive the same treatment as the books we develop by our own intiative. The same creative and professional standards apply and the financial limits are respected. Books on demand can be based on a "work for hire" contract, which means that the client has the possibility to obtain world rights for the project.

Publishing rights

The publishing rights of the books that Hans Geel Productions creates can be negotiated separately for each language. Hans Geel Productions sometimes applies a flat fee for each language, respecting the size of the book market for each language. In other cases a publishing contract based on royalties can be made. World rights for some projects can be negociated.
If Hans Geel Productions has several international buyers for a current book projects, an estimate can be made for the print production.

Technical options

Hans Geel Productions has a long lasting experience in book production. If you have any special wishes for binding, special inks, stamping, etc., don't hesitate asking us for proposals and solutions.
