The origins

The origins of Hans Geel Productions go as far back as the year 1986. In that year the graphic design agency was founded in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The team started with two designers, a copywriter and a traffic coordinator.
The first clients were two internationally operating tour operators. Hans Geel Productions created for these clients a large number of travel catalogues following a very strict production scheme. Meanwhile Hans Geel Productions produced book jacket designs and promotional strategies for giant Dutch publishers as Elsevier, Wolters Kluwer and Samsom. Hans Geel Productions also was in charge of the packaging design for one of the main department stores in The Netherlands.
In 1988 Hans Geel Productions was asked open an office in Spain, to attend the growing demand for travel catalogues production in the booming tourism industry.
After several successfull years Hans Geel Productions created a new firm in the heart of the city of Barcelona, unifying the Dutch and the Spanish studios in one high-tech unit with Europe-wide connections.
With an international team of creative designers and writers, Hans Geel Design has the intention to become one of the main book and contents producers in Europe.

The team

The aim of Hans Geel Productions is to create publishing projects with a special, unique character. This purpose is achieved working with a multi-disciplinary team and a combination of Northern European skills and Mediterranean creativity. This mixture makes the workflow at Hans Geel Productions so different. Professionals from different cultures and countries bring their influences and opinions into the projects, making them suitable for a global market.
At Hans Geel Productions we coordinate and produce complex publishing projects. Our editors, designers, art directors, photographers and picture editors are the ones that create the projects and coordinate the production process from beginning to end.
Talented writers supply copy according to strict guidelines, specialists control every publication so that the final result is perfect.
Our photographers work with the latest digital equipment and the editing is done according to the highest standards of the graphic industry.
Our picture editors are experts in finding the most hard-to-find impacting images, negociating with a wide range of suppliers.
The finished project is completely ready to be printed according to any modern printing system and is controlled by experienced professionals in the graphic production process.

Technical resources

In its more than 20 years of existence, Hans Geel Productions has always been one of the first to implement the latest technical developments. And from the beginning we had one thing clear: Apple Macs permit our creative professionals more creativity and more production at the same time. Now the whole team of Hans Geel Productions works on Apple Macs. A wireless LAN takes care of the necessary connections between the working spaces and the internet access is via ADSL broadband.
For daily print production we use Xerox and Ricoh laser printers and for proofprinting we use an Epson large format printer with Postscript RIP.
We digitize images on high-end Epson flatbed scanners for highest quality.
Clients can have their own FTP access to our shared server for comfortable interchange of digital documents.
